About Down On The Farm Radio
Since 1995, Down On The Farm has provided Texas listeners with the latest news and information regarding agri-business. Covering livestock, crops, futures, weather and industry news, Down On The Farm is heard in markets like San Antonio, the Coastal Bend, the Hill Country and the Brazos Valley.
DOTF’s hosts bring a wealth of real-world agricultural experience. Owner and founder Larry Marble has served as a commercial farm manager and Texas A&M extension agent. The Down On The Farm team has decades of broadcast experience.
Each Down On The Farm program is produced for the specific market and station where it airs. The content is local, topical and specific.
As the host and owner of Down on the Farm Radio, Larry began the farm and ranch news program on KKYX in 1995 with a Saturday morning program. Three years later, he dedicated himself full time to the program by adding a noon-hour report which has grown from 15 minutes to nearly an hour a day.
Larry grew up on seven-sections of irrigated farm land near Hart in the Texas Panhandle. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Animal Science. Prior to starting Down On The Farm Radio, Larry managed a corporate farm, was an extension agent for Texas A&M and worked for three major feed manufacturers traveling all over South & Central Texas.
Never straying from his production ag roots, Larry and his wife Claire are still involved in agriculture through interests in cattle and sheep production, market vegetables and Deer Management. Larry and Claire make their home in the Coastal Bend.
